In October, 2000 bare the musical received its World Premiere in Hollywood, California. It was supposed to run for 32 performances at an 87-seat theatre on Santa Monica Boulevard. Four months later, it had become a multi award-winning sensation created by two 26-year-old writers and a 23-year-old director. Among the awards were the L.A. Weekly Award for Best Musical, the Ovation Award for Best Musical and the L.A. Drama Critics Award for Best Score.
In 2004 bare premiered on the East Coast in NYC with a limited engagement run. Soon the strong following that had started in California steadily grew and, again, the show was a sell out with critics who were raving.
Since those premiere limited engagements the show has quickly become a top favorite. Not only with those who were lucky enough to see the show live, but also among the ones who managed to get hold of the prized promotional CD that was recorded during the NY run.
And now, this passionate and inspiring show is coming to Baltimore for the very first time in a production featuring the best creative and performing talent Baltimore has to offer!
To those who are only new to this dynamic piece of musical theater we present this site as an introduction to the show. To those who know the show (and are as excited about this production as we are) this site is a place for you to get a preview of our production and see what we're up to before the opening night curtain goes up.
